An older lass, full of love, and a big believer in the simple pleasures of life, Becky is looking for a forever home where her golden years can be filled with comfort, companionship and all the sofa snuggles her heart desires. You may have noticed our girl Becky is a little on the rotund side! 😂 But don’t worry, she’s already on her weight-loss journey and has made great progress in foster care. She’ll need a family committed to continuing her healthy lifestyle, keeping her weight in check and helping her enjoy a longer, happier and more comfortable life. Think leisurely walks, sensible portions and plenty of love — a pretty good recipe for success! After losing her beloved elderly human companion, Becky has settled beautifully into foster care and is ready to find her next special person. She’s a sweet, friendly and affectionate girl who just wants to be part of your world — whether that means pottering around the garden together, heading out for a daily adventure or keeping you company from her favourite armchair. Life with Becky ☀️ Becky has her routine down to a fine art. Mornings are for a leisurely 30-minute walk, sniffing all the interesting smells and saying hello to her human and dog friends. Afternoons are for snoozing, sunbathing and perhaps a little treat puzzle to keep her clever nose busy. Evenings? Sofa cuddles, naturally! She enjoys car rides, outings with her people, bushwalks and doggy dates with friends. She’s also a lovely little companion around the home, often hanging out in the garden while her foster mum tends to the plants. Becky is a clever girl, too! She knows how to shake paws, happily steps into her harness, and performs an enthusiastic little twirl when it’s time for dinner. She’s very food motivated, which makes training a fun and rewarding experience. Her ideal home 🏡 Becky would love a home where she can enjoy plenty of human company. She’s used to having her person around much of the time, so someone who works from home a few days a week or enjoys a relaxed lifestyle would suit her beautifully. She initially struggled with being left alone, but with consistency and training, she’s made wonderful progress and can now comfortably spend several hours at home by herself. A secure backyard where she can stretch her legs, sniff around and enjoy a sunny spot would be lovely. She could also happily share her home with a calm, friendly dog of a similar size. Becky has met older primary-school-aged children and behaved well, although a calm household will be best suited to her needs. Her compatibility with cats is currently unknown. A little extra TLC 💕 Becky has some age-related arthritis, but she’s doing well and still manages the stairs around her foster home. She can hop onto her favourite sofa and armchair independently, although she appreciates a helping hand getting into the car. She has been working hard on her weight in foster care and is now 17.5kg. Continuing her weight-management plan, alongside joint supplements, will help support her comfort and mobility as she gets older. Becky takes Keppra (levetiracetam) three times daily for seizures of unknown origin. Thankfully, she has had no further seizures since starting medication a few months ago, but she will need her medication continued and ongoing veterinary monitoring. She just needs someone who will cherish her, include her in life's little moments and make sure she never has to wonder where she belongs again.
