Diamond is a sweet girl who is desperately hoping to find a home where she can feel safe, understood and learn to shine in her own time. This lovely pup is a nervous girl who is still finding her confidence. She absolutely loves her toys and can often be found carrying one of her favourite stuffies around — almost like a little comfort blanket that helps her feel brave. Once Diamond is familiar with her people, her sweet and playful personality really starts to come out. With new people and unfamiliar situations, Diamond can be more reserved and may choose to avoid or withdraw. She will need patient people who understand that building trust takes time and who are happy to let her come out of her shell at her own pace. Diamond also needs a home that can encourage calm behaviours. When she becomes overwhelmed or worked up, she can be jumpy and mouthy, so she will need continued guidance and positive reinforcement to help her learn how to manage her excitement. For this reason, Diamond will require an adult-only home with people who are patient, understanding and committed to helping her build confidence. Diamond has shown some promising dog skills, but she will still need a little support and guidance before she is ready to socialise with another dog. With the right introduction and ongoing support, this is something that may be possible in the future.
