About Misty

Misty is a gentle, sensitive soul who has come further than anyone could have imagined. When she first arrived in our care, she was completely shut down and too scared to interact with the world around her. But with time, patience, and the incredible support of her foster carer, Misty has slowly started to realise that not everyone is out to hurt her… and that it’s okay to feel safe. While she’s still a timid girl, the progress she’s made has been so special to watch. Misty is ideally looking for a women-only household. She is not aggressive in any way, but she is fearful of men and can completely shut down in their presence. Because of this, her home environment needs to feel predictable, calm, and safe so she can continue building her confidence. One of the most beautiful things about Misty is how much another dog helps her. When she’s around a confident four legged companion, you can see her whole demeanour shift. She becomes more relaxed, more curious, and her personality starts to shine through. For this reason, Misty will need to live with another dog, ideally a confident male who enjoys play and can help guide her as she continues to learn about the world. Misty has started to enjoy the little things in life, like heading out for walks and quietly watching the sunset with her foster mum. These moments might seem small, but for Misty, they’re huge steps forward. She would do best in a quiet home where someone is around often and understands that building trust will take time. She’s not going to be an instant “confident dog", but with patience, consistency, and kindness, she will continue to grow. Misty is looking for someone who can see her for who she is and meet her where she’s at. In return, you’ll get to watch one of the most rewarding transformations, seeing a once shut-down dog learn how to feel safe, loved, and truly at home.
