🧡 Meet Nelly Furrtado 🧡 Nelly Furrtado is a beautiful little ginger girl who is still learning that humans can be trusted. She is very much a work in progress, but every day she is showing us little glimpses of the confident, curious cat she could become. Nelly is currently shy, timid and easily scared. If you approach her too quickly or get too close, she will usually run away. She may hiss when you first approach her while she's in her cat bed, and occasionally gives a little growl, but once she feels safe, she will tolerate pats and is slowly learning to enjoy human company. The really exciting thing about Nelly is that she is making progress. She is becoming more curious and inquisitive, and she has recently started following her foster human around the house - a lovely sign that she is beginning to feel comfortable and wants to know what's going on! Nelly absolutely LOVES other cats. She would make a wonderful companion for a friendly, confident cat who can help show her the ropes and give her some reassurance. Having another feline friend may be particularly beneficial as she continues to build her confidence. When she's feeling playful, Nelly is a completely different girl! She loves chasing balls, playing and having plenty of zoomies around the house. Watching her come out of her shell during playtime is very rewarding. Nelly needs an adopter who understands that trust takes time. She isn't going to be the cat who immediately jumps into your lap, and she needs someone who will let her come to them, give her space when she needs it and celebrate the little milestones along the way. A quiet, patient home with someone willing to give her the time and love she needs would be ideal. A friendly resident cat would be a huge bonus for this sweet girl.
