Long, luxurious fur, a calm personality, and a heart that just needs someone patient enough to earn her trust. A little about her: • 12-year-old long-haired calico • Manages a hyperthyroid condition with twice-daily medication - easy to give, and she settles into the routine quickly • Isn't a fan of high-energy cats (especially bouncy Bombay types!) - she prefers a calmer household, but could potentially be suited with another calmer older cat • Best suited to a home with patient, gentle humans who'll let her come out of her shell in her own time Her ideal home: Someone who understands that slow and steady win the race. Give her space, let her set the pace, and she'll reward you with the quiet companionship only a wise old soul can offer. She's not looking to be the center of chaos - she's looking for a soft lap, a sunny windowsill, and people who'll be there when she's ready. Her medication routine is simple and manageable - no special skills needed, just consistency and love. If you've got patience, a calm home, and room in your heart for a senior girl with a lot of love left to give, Lola would love to meet you. Medical Notes Lola has a heart murmur. The murmur has been assessed by Cat Haven veterinary staff as mild (grade three or less) and not likely to cause any adverse effects on their health. Lola has mild dental tartar and associated gum changes. This is very common in mature cats. Lola has a skin condition which has caused severe hair loss and itching in the past. There are a number of different things that can cause this condition, and it can be difficult to determine the underlying cause without specialists testing and trials. It is not known what causes her skin reaction, therefore it is important that you use a variety of preventative measures. Lola has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Hyperthyroidism is a disease whereby abnormally functioning thyroid glands produce thyroid hormones in excess to the body's usual requirements, and tends to be a disease of middle-aged to older cats. Hyperthyroidism is a LIFELONG condition and does not spontaneously resolve. DO NOT STOP medication unless under the direction of your veterinarian. Cat Haven will supply you and your cat with one month of medication, as well as emailing a complete history through to your nominated veterinary clinic.
