About Abbott

🐾 MEET ABBOTT – YOUR BIG, SOFT-HEARTED BEST FRIEND! ❤️ This handsome, lovable big guy is on the search for his perfect foster or forever home! Abbott is a big softie with an even bigger heart. What he really wants is a quiet, loving home where he can relax, feel safe and be the centre of his humans' world. Abbott is looking for an experienced large-breed home with someone who understands the importance of patience, routine and allowing a dog time to decompress and settle in at his own pace. While Abbott is generally a quiet gentleman, he does have the occasional burst of zoomies! He can be quite strong and boisterous when he's feeling playful, so a confident and capable handler who is comfortable managing a large, powerful dog is essential. 🏡 Abbott's ideal home: A calm, quiet household where he can enjoy a relaxed lifestyle. Humans who are happy to have him inside as part of the family, with access to a secure backyard. A home where he can enjoy simple, leisurely walks in quiet areas without too much hustle and bustle. An only-pet home where he doesn't have to share his space or attention with other dogs. An experienced owner who understands large breeds and can give him the time and space he needs to feel comfortable. Abbott isn't particularly interested in interacting with other dogs, but if another dog gets into his space or pressures him to engage, he can become reactive. For this reason, a pet-free home where he can enjoy life without the stress of other animals would be best. Once settled and comfortable in his new surroundings, Abbott is quite happy to spend some time home alone, snoozing the day away until his humans return. ❤️ A few things to know about our special boy: Abbott is getting on in his years and has some arthritis, so he'll need a lovely, comfortable bed and a warm, cosy spot inside to rest his weary bones. He absolutely loves cuddles and affection, but he can be wary of veterinary handling or anything he feels may involve invasive handling. He'll need a savvy, understanding owner who can read his body language, recognise when he's uncomfortable and respect his boundaries. Give Abbott the patience and understanding he deserves, and you'll be rewarded with a wonderfully loyal companion who loves nothing more than being close to his people. Abbott isn't looking for a busy lifestyle or endless adventures. He's simply looking for a safe place to call home, a comfy bed, a few gentle walks and someone to love him unconditionally. ❤️ If you have experience with large breeds and think you could offer this beautiful boy the calm, loving home he's been waiting for, we'd love to hear from you!
