About Bernie

Bernie is an 8-year-old Malinois × German Shepherd who loves people, enjoys leaning in for a good pat and is very motivated by food. He knows some basic skills and is generally calm and settled once he feels comfortable. Bernie can be unsure around other animals, so he needs to be the only pet in the home. He is looking for an adult or teen-only family with previous dog ownership experience, ideally with similar breeds. His family will need to provide consistent guidance and be committed to ongoing training to help Bernie feel safe, confident and settled. Bernie will need both indoor and outdoor access, including a secure outdoor area where he can safely enjoy time outside. All members of the household will also need to attend a meet-and-greet with Bernie before adoption. With the right experienced family, Bernie has so much love and companionship to offer and would make a wonderful addition to a home that understands and appreciates him
