Gator is a 1-year-old Collie x Staghound who is basically a big, bouncy puppy packed into one very handsome, long-legged package! He's playful, sweet and full of enthusiasm, and if there's an opportunity for a game, an adventure or a bit of fun, Gator is absolutely on board. He's got a lovely nature and a whole lot of personality - he just needs a family ready to help him channel all that youthful energy into becoming the best boy he can be. Gator would love a home that enjoys getting out and about and can provide moderate to high daily exercise, mental stimulation and plenty of enrichment. He'll also benefit from continuing to build his foundation skills, particularly his lead manners. Think of it as a little teamwork between Gator and his humans... because right now, the lead occasionally has its own ideas about where everyone should be going! He could happily fit into a family home with dog-savvy kids, although his enthusiastic, bouncy nature means he may accidentally bowl over smaller children - Gator isn't always aware of just how much real estate those long legs take up! Some experience with hounds or working breeds would be a big bonus, as would a family who enjoys training and giving a clever young dog a job to do. Gator may also be able to share his home with another dog, pending the right introduction and match. He hasn't been tested with cats, so any feline introductions would need to be done slowly and carefully. In short, Gator is sweet, silly, energetic and wonderfully lovable. He's looking for an active family who will embrace his big personality, help him learn the ropes and enjoy plenty of adventures together.
