Marshmallow is only eleven weeks old, but she’s already taken on a very important job: making sure nobody in the household comes or goes without a proper greeting. This adorable girl takes her responsibilities seriously. She’ll follow you around the house, wait patiently by the door for your return, and celebrate your arrival as though you’ve been away for three years rather than a quick trip to the shops. During her time in foster care, Marshmallow settled in straight away and wasted absolutely no time making herself at home. She lived with two adults, a four-year-old child and another dog, and her foster carer says she loves humans and dogs in equal measure. She’s curious, playful and always interested in what everyone is doing. When she’s not busy investigating her surroundings or enjoying her toys, she’s happiest simply being close to her people. And don’t let that sweet little name fool you. Marshmallow has plenty of puppy enthusiasm! She can get very excited when someone comes home, but settles down nicely once the initial celebrations are over. Her foster carer also described her as incredibly smart and quick to understand, which is wonderful news for whoever gets to raise this clever little girl. As a Rottweiler x Kelpie, Marshmallow will grow into a strong, intelligent and energetic dog, so her new family will need to be ready for all the training, socialisation, mental enrichment and adventures that come with raising a puppy. She’s got a fantastic start already, and with positive guidance and plenty of love, there’s so much potential in this little girl. Marshmallow has already decided that people are wonderful, other dogs are pretty great too, and life is much better when everyone is together. Now she’s just looking for a family to grow up with, preferably one that appreciates a very enthusiastic welcome home! No appointment is needed, so come and visit Marshmallow at our North Melbourne shelter. If you’re interested in adopting her, our team can arrange a meet and greet. If you have children or another dog at home, please bring them along so they can meet Marshmallow too.
