This gorgeous little Dachshund is looking for a very special home with someone who understands and appreciates all the quirks that come with her breed! Poppy is searching for an experienced, patient and committed owner who can provide the appropriate enrichment, understanding and guidance she needs to thrive. Poppy was surrendered to GAWS following conflict with the other dog in her previous home, along with some reactivity. For this reason, she is looking for a child-free home where she can be the only dog and enjoy a quieter lifestyle without the pressures of sharing her space. While Poppy needs to be the only dog in her home, the Poppy we know here at GAWS has shown us that she can be social with calm, well-mannered dogs in appropriate settings. She may also be able to share her home with a feline friend, provided introductions are managed carefully and the match is right. With those she knows and trusts, Poppy shows her sweet side and is more than happy to enjoy a cuddle or two. Underneath those little Dachshund legs is a lovely girl who simply needs someone willing to understand her and give her the time and space to feel comfortable.
