Stone the flamin’ crows and strike me roan! Ned is a quintessentially Aussie moniker for a dog so fair dinkum the word “Australian” forms part of his breed name. He’s an Australian Shepherd-New Zealand Herding Dog x, so our Kiwi cousins are included in his cultural mix. “Ned enjoys human company,” staff say, and his behaviour record notes that he gets a “helicopter tail” when he greets people. “Ned is high energy and requires plenty of room to run,” staff say. He will need plenty of exercise and intellectual stimulation for his agile body and equally agile mind. “He would benefit from obedience training.” We recommend a beginner course. Neddy is friendly with other dogs and might like a doggy friend to help him settle into his new home. We always advise thoughtful matchmaking that considers temperament, play style and energy levels, along with gentle introductions.
