Meet Dave F1115 According to his foster carer, Dave is the most perfect boy to ever exist (and his foster carer is rarely ever wrong). Dave is a six-month-old male Cattle Dog who is sweet, gentle, clever, and just an all-round lovely little guy who wants nothing more than to be wherever his human is. Dave has three legs, but he doesn't let that slow him down. He can comfortably walk, run, play, and jump, and he's more than happy to get out and enjoy the world. His exercise does need to be spread out over the course of the day, as he tires a little more quickly than typical cattle dogs. He currently enjoys a 30 minute walk at the beach or on a trail by the river, as well as some play sessions and zoomies in the back yard. He will need a little extra care to make sure he stays comfortable as he grows, and we'd love to see him do some canine conditioning or hydrotherapy to help him build and maintain the muscle strength he needs to support his mobility. Dave has a fantastic temperament and is balanced and takes all new situations in his stride. He walks well on a leash and settles quickly at cafes, and in busy places. Dave is fantastic with just about everyone and everything. He's great with other dogs and cats and currently happily shares his home with both. He is gentle and tolerant with people of all ages including little kids and older people - he doesn't jump up or nip, and is very calm in new situations. Dave would love to be a farm dog, and has been wonderful around horses and shows no interest in chasing them even when they're running or being ridden. He also shows little interest in sheep, or small animals in aviaries like rabbits, guinea pigs, and birds. He does show a little too much interest in free-range chickens, but he doesn't chase them and can easily be called away, so there's good potential for him to learn to coexist with them with the right supervision and training! He's an absolute star off leash, with fantastic recall. Whether he's at the beach, in the park, or on a farm, he's rarely far from his human and always comes when called no matter what's going on around him. He'd happily join you for a walk on the beach or a game of fetch, but his favourite thing in the world is simply being by your side. Whatever you're doing, wherever you're going, Dave would quite like to come along too. When you're not home, Dave is perfectly happy to hang out by himself, whether that's inside or outside. He's crate trained and currently stays crated indoors when his human is out, but he's not at all destructive and would likely transition to having more freedom in the house when home alone quite easily. Dave currently sleeps overnight in his crate or sharing his foster carer's bed with another dog and cats. Dave could suit a variety of homes, from a family with kids and other animals to someone looking for a best mate to take on adventures. The one thing worth knowing about him is that he bonds very quickly and very strongly with his person. He can be a little aloof with strangers, especially men, but once you've earned his love he'll be your shadow! Dave is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, and up to date on flea and worm treatment. Dave is located with his foster carer in Ottoway. His adoption fee is $750. Ready to welcome us into your life? To get a questionnaire and meet me apply below.
