About Darren

Meet Darren aka Daz – small package, BIG Kelpie energy, an 11-week-old red and tan pocket rocket, aka purebred Kelpie, who appears to have misplaced his brakes and forgotten where the slow-down button is! Darren has one speed, and that's a million miles an hour! That little red blur that just flew past? Yep, that's Darren. There are things to see, places to explore, smells to investigate and absolutely everything to round up. The only things that seems to capture his attention long enough to slow him down are shadows, leaves blowing in the wind and, of course, chickens, sheep or goats. 😂 But don't let all that turbo-charged energy fool you. Underneath that busy little Kelpie exterior is a sweetheart who enjoys a cuddle, will happily tuck his head over your shoulder for a nap and can occasionally find five whole minutes for a belly rub and ear scratch. ❤️ Now, let's talk about what Darren REALLY needs. Darren is looking for an active, dog-savvy family who understands the Kelpie breed and is ready to embrace everything that comes with it. Perhaps you've been itching to dabble in sheepdog trials, agility or flyball? Maybe you're looking for a working dog to join you on the farm? Or perhaps you're an outdoorsy family who is constantly on the go and has the time, commitment and experience to provide the training, exercise and mental stimulation required to keep a clever Kelpie brain happy. Whatever your plans, one thing is non-negotiable... Darren is NOT a backyard ornament! He is a working breed with a busy brain, endless enthusiasm and a genuine need for purpose. A few toys in the backyard and a daily walk simply aren't going to cut it. He needs a family who will give him a job, challenge his mind, teach him how to channel his energy and invest in helping him become the very best version of himself. His wonderful carer has already put in the hard yards to help Darren develop that very important 'off switch', encouraging downtime, rest and naps amongst all the chaos. These foundations are incredibly important and his forever family MUST be prepared to continue building on them. Darren has all the ingredients to be an incredible dog in the right hands, but he needs the right home to bring out the best in him. If you've got the lifestyle, experience and enthusiasm to keep this little red rocket busy, engaged AND teach him when it's time to put his feet up, Darren might just be your boy! ❤️ 📍 Location: Wynarka. 🐾 Desexed. 🐾 Microchipped. 🐾 Vaccinations up to date. 💰 Adoption fee: $750. Please remember, you're not just adopting an adorable puppy. You're signing up for a lifetime of Kelpie brilliance, energy, entertainment and commitment.
