Meet Trusty 🐾 With his adorable scruffy coat, cute little beard and gentle soul, Trusty is the kind of dog who leaves a lasting impression on everyone he meets. This handsome Wolfhound cross may take a little time to settle into a new environment, but once he feels safe and comfortable, his affectionate and loyal nature truly shines through. Trusty previously lived with an elderly owner who had dementia and used a wheelchair, and he was known for being incredibly gentle and caring. Sadly, when his owner moved into care, her greatest wish was for Trusty to find a loving forever home where he would be just as cherished. Now, this sweet boy is looking for someone special to give him that second chance. Trusty enjoys the companionship of his people and thrives when someone is home often. His foster family is around most of the time and he loves having company nearby. While he can be playful and enjoys being involved in family life, he also has a relaxed side and is perfectly happy stretching out in a sunny patch of grass and watching the world go by. He would do best as the only dog in the household so he can soak up all the love and attention. Trusty is still learning his lead manners and can pull when walking, so he will need a patient adopter willing to continue his training and help him build confidence. As a large dog, Trusty will require secure fencing of at least 5 feet to keep him safe. In return, you'll be rewarded with a devoted companion who simply wants to be loved, included and part of a family once again. Trusty has so much love to give and is hoping his next home will be his forever one. HEALTH WAIVER: Trusty is currently being treated for heartworm. This treatment is included in the adoption fee and will need to be done at an approved Lucky Paws Vet in SE QLD. We will also pay for another heartworm test in 9 months. If the dog is still heartworm positive, Lucky Paws will pay for another round of heartworm treatment at our approved Lucky Paws vet.
