Reggie is a lovable scaredy-cat with the gentlest soul. There isn't a mean bone in his body. He is a sweet, sensitive boy who is looking for a patient and understanding family to help him continue building his confidence. Reggie's past is largely unknown. He was found abandoned on a hot outback road, covered in scars and clearly showing signs of a very difficult life. While we can never know exactly what he has endured, it's evident that he has experienced hardship and potentially abuse. Despite this, Reggie's kind nature has never wavered. Because of his past, Reggie is very frightened of sudden movements, loud noises and raised voices. He would thrive in a quiet, calm home where he can feel safe and secure. He may come across as avoidant or withdrawn during meet-and-greets, but please don't let that fool you. What Reggie has to offer is truly special, and those who take the time to earn his trust will discover an incredibly loving companion. Reggie absolutely adores other dogs and gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. He must got to a home with an existing canine friend. He takes great comfort from canine companionship and enjoys having doggy friends around. It's clear that Reggie has never really been allowed inside a home before, and he's thoroughly enjoying family life. He currently sleeps in the garage at night but loves nothing more than coming in for morning cuddles. Watching him discover the comforts of a loving home has been incredibly rewarding. He has a gorgeous balance of personalities. One minute he's a goofy, playful puppy making everyone laugh, and the next he's happily snoozing on his bed for half the day. Reggie doesn't need someone home all day either. He enjoys spending time outdoors and is content entertaining himself in the yard. While he hasn't had much basic training, Reggie is a smart boy and a quick learner. He's already making progress and will continue to blossom with consistency, patience and positive reinforcement. Reggie is a beautiful dog inside and out. He has so much love to give and asks for very little in return: kindness, understanding and the chance to finally know what it feels like to be someone's beloved family member. If you're willing to look past the nervous exterior and give him the time he needs, Reggie will reward you with a loyalty and love that is truly unforgettable.
