Nellie may be small in size, but she will fill your heart in a way only a very special dog can. This sweet Shih Tzu cross is gentle, affectionate and loves being part of her family's daily life. She is happy to relax independently, but enjoys knowing her people are nearby and will often pop over to see what you are doing, hoping for a few head scratches, some cuddles or a little playtime. Nellie is friendly with people of all ages and enjoys meeting new faces. She may let you know when someone unfamiliar arrives, but it doesn't take long before a stranger becomes a new friend and a source of extra pats. She is a well-mannered girl who sleeps soundly through the night, waiting patiently for her family to wake up before starting her day. She is also toilet trained, house trained and has no interest in stealing your socks or getting into mischief. One thing to be aware of is that Nellie cannot walk down stairs and will need to be carried if she finds herself at the top of a staircase. For this reason, a single-level home would be the ideal environment for her. Nellie would thrive in a calm and loving home where she can be included in everyday life and showered with the affection she adores. In return, she will reward her family with unwavering companionship, endless sweetness and a heart full of love. She truly is the kind of little dog who leaves paw prints on your heart forever. HEALTH WAIVER: Nellie has recently had her cherry eye repaired and this is healing well. Nellie has Grade 2 Dental Disease so with all older dogs may require a dental procedure in the future.
