However, once he settled in and realised he was safe, he completely transformed into a quite smoochy and social guy who loves affection. Because he is still quite timid and may take a few minutes to warm up to new people, he is looking for a patient and understanding adopter who recognises that he will be nervous in a new environment. He just needs a little time to decompress before he can truly show you his wonderful, loving personality. Magpie is best suited to a calm household, ideally with calm, older children who can read and understand basic cat body language and know when to give him space. Since he arrived at the shelter alongside other felines, he may do well living with a friendly, social cat companion, provided they are given slow and appropriate introductions. He may also adjust well to a home with a calm, social dog, as long as his new owners are able to carefully monitor their interactions.
