So here’s the deal. My name is Gary. I know, I know. It’s the coolest name ever. And my foster mum is a Westie, so there you go. Clearly I come from excellent stock. Wherever I go, people always say, “Gary, you are so cute!” Honestly, I’m starting to think I should be signing autographs. Actually, I might start selling them so I can fund the lifestyle I deserve. I’m thinking a luxury cruise, or at the very least, a new car for my family. I’m talking 1969 Mustang. 1970 Chevrolet Camaro. You get the vibe I’m looking for. Although, if I’m being honest, I’ll cruise in pretty much any car as long as you let me ride shotgun, slobber all over the windows and bark at all the other cute dogs we pass. We’ve been playing with some bigger dogs who are helping us learn how to dog. I would really like a dog mentor in my life because humans are great, but there are some things they just can’t show me properly. Like how do I eat, fart, run a marathon and rip up a teddy bear all at the same time? These are important life skills, people. As far as my breed goes, we’re going to stick with “Rescue Special” — a bit of this and a bit of that. Basically, I’m one of a kind. I much prefer to use the toilet outside, although I still have the occasional accident. I love sleeping and resting in my crate, and I have a leash now so I can take my fosters out for walks. They’re learning well. I’m looking for a family who will continue helping me learn, give me plenty of adventures, cuddles and playtime, and preferably understand that every car journey should include a front seat upgrade for me. My adoption fee covers all 3 vaccinations, desexing when I’m old enough, up-to-date flea and worm treatment, one training consultation, collar, lead, harness, my favourite blankie, toy and a week’s supply of my food. I’m currently fostered in Taupaki, Auckland, so come and meet me. And don’t forget to drive up in my dream car. Or at least one that has a seat in the front just for me.
