Hi, I'm Dexter. I'm a large, lovable crossbreed with a heart as big as my paws. If you're looking for a loyal dog and are ready to invest time and love, plus help me be my best self with positive normal on-going guidance/training you'll be rewarded with a truly special bond. I respond beautifully to treat training, which is so helpful, so I'm told. I will be really special companion to you. And very, very easy to love. I'd like nothing better than to be part of my adoptee's daily activities. I'm inquisitive and curious - as you are working, you'll see my head tilt with a questioning expression wondering what it is you are holding and what it is for. And then we move on to what you are doing next. You'll notice a picture of my head in one of the photos on my profile - that's me being a part of office life here at SPCA. Plus, some office time. I love a game of ball in which I'm great at retrieving. I like water play. I constantly bring a smile to the staff here, with my ways. I'm one of those dogs that hears a siren going and I can't help myself - it does something to me that makes me howl along with it. I have energy and enthusiasm and learning how to have fun and figuring out the world around me. I've lived with another dog, and with careful introductions this could be a possibility for me again. I'm best suited to a home with older children who can handle my size and energy, and I'll need ongoing training, structure, and patience as I continue to learn.
