Meet Penny - professionally retired, despite being far too young for retirement. Penny has perfected the art of a peaceful life. Her daily schedule is carefully balanced between finding the warmest sunbeam in the house, enjoying a good meal, relocating to an even warmer sunbeam, and wondering if dinner might happen twice. She's not interested in being carried around like royalty - thank you very much. Pick-ups are firmly off the agenda, but gentle pats? Those are perfectly acceptable, and she's becoming more comfortable with them every day. Penny is still figuring out that people are actually quite nice, and she's making wonderful progress. She just prefers to build friendships at her own speed rather than diving straight into the cuddle Olympics. One thing she has no trouble with is other cats and kittens. She's happy to share her home with feline friends and would enjoy having some quiet company while everyone collectively pretends they aren't waiting for the next meal. Penny would love a calm, patient home where she can continue building her confidence without too much hustle and bustle. If you can provide sunny windows, tasty snacks, and respect her "feet stay on the floor" policy, you'll soon discover that behind her quiet nature is a lovely little cat who's learning that life with humans can be pretty wonderful after all.
