Rebel

Meet Rebel - SPCA Timaru's Star of the Week! When sweet Rebel first arrived at the SPCA Timaru centre, she was a very scared wee girl. Telling us just how frightened she was, she relied on little hisses and hiding deep inside the comfort of her bed. But with a few days of patience, lots of love, and kindness, Rebel started to realize that humans are actually quite alright! Her brave side began to shine through-starting with eating treats right off a spoon. Soon, she was sneaking little head-smooches against our arms and hands when she thought we weren't looking, and she finally discovered the pure joy of being brushed! Today, Rebel is a fan of treat-dispenser toys and Licki Mats, and she grows in confidence every single day. Because of her incredible journey, she is our proud Timaru Centre Star of the Week! What Rebel is looking for in a forever home: A Calm & Patient Human: Someone who understands that moving to a new home is a big transition for a this wee girl. She will likely be shy and hide in a safe space at first until she learns to trust you and her new routine. Treats & Brushes: Having her favorite snacks on hand will be the ultimate key to her heart! A Quiet Environment: Rebel is best suited to a quiet, predictable home with no young children where she can truly flourish and thrive. Special Diet: Rebel has some very mild gingivitis and will require a special dental diet to keep her pearly whites in prime condition. Once you have earned Rebel's trust, she will reward you with the most delicate, loving head-smooches and endless affection. Are you the special person Rebel has been waiting for? If you would like to welcome Rebel into your home or find out more about her, please apply to adopt her today or call the SPCA Timaru centre with any questions!
