MEET REN - A GENTLEMAN WHO IS ALWAYS SMARTLY DRESSED. Ren is an 8-year-old tuxedo with a soft purr and an even softer heart . He may be shy at first, but with a little patience he blossoms into a loving, gentle lap cat who adores snuggling close to you at all hours of the day. Once he feels safe, Ren greets you at the door with soft meows, enjoys pets, and loves rolling around in a sunny patch each morning. He has a playful side too and loves his wand toys, tablet games, and bird videos. Ren communicates his boundaries politely usually through meowing, pushing your hand away or (rarely) hissing, when he reaches his petting limit. He is incredibly easy to love once he trusts you and is very relaxed when meeting new people. Ren is FIV+ and is our only cat in a home of adults, but I believe he would thrive in any calm, indoor home where he can relax, feel secure, and continue to blossom. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a gentle soul, Ren will brighten your days in the sweetest ways. Medical Notes Ren has mild dental tartar and associated gum changes. This is very common in mature cats. Ren has a waiver for a chipped tooth. Our veterinarians have carefully assessed this chip and no further treatment is currently required. Ren has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). FIV is a retrovirus that can compromise the immune system, spread by fighting and deep penetrating wounds. They should lead a normal life despite this diagnosis, but there are a few special considerations that need to be made in regards to their health and well-being long term. These include being an inside only cat; slow and careful introduction to other cats; and annual vaccinations and health checks. Ren is located with his foster family in Pearsall.
