About Squirrel

Hello, I'm Squirrel - a handsome and gentle tabby boy. The first day in my foster home I was very anxious and just wanted to hide. However, this didn't last long once I learnt my foster mum gives the best chin scritches! My favourite thing is food. Wait no, pats! Wait, actually I do love my wet food and chicken creamy treats - maybe too much! I'm a bit chonky, but I'm getting down to a healthier weight on my special diet. It may take me a few weeks but once I know I can trust you, I'll happily curl up next to you and let you give me pats anywhere, even my belly. I don't mind being in your lap occasionally but I prefer to just be nearby. I also love being brushed and will purr the entire time! I don't like sudden movements or loud noises, but as long as I have a hidey spot to retreat to I think I'll be okay. I'm not sure how I'll do with kids or other pets but I don't bite, growl or scratch - I'm very gentle and more likely to run away if I feel unsafe. With a very slow introduction my foster mum thinks I might enjoy having a cat friend. It's super important that my new home has an overall calm, quiet energy as my previous home became too noisy and boisterous, leading me to toilet inappropriately. This hasn't been an issue while in foster care though. I haven't shown much of a playful side so far, but as I get more comfortable that might change - I'm still young after all. If you can be patient and slow with me I'll let my beautiful personality shine. I can't wait to meet you! Medical Notes Squirrel has a waiver for Weight Management. Squirrel has mild dental tartar and associated gum changes. This is very common in mature cats. Squirrel has a waiver for Inappropriate Toileting. During their time at Cat Haven, they have displayed some evidence of toileting inappropriately, such as toileting on their bedding or outside their litter tray. Their urine has been checked to rule out medical concerns, and it is likely that this behaviour is associated with stress and/or anxiety. It is possible that this behaviour will continue during the transition to your new home, and we cannot rule out that it may be an ongoing issue. I am located with my foster family in Westminster.
