Oreo

About Oreo

Meet Oreo, a handsome almost 7-year-old Staffy who is hoping his next chapter will be with a family he can call his own. Oreo came into our care after being found as a stray and, sadly, was never claimed. Since arriving at SCARS, he has been a lovely boy who has shown us what a gentle and affectionate companion he can be. During his veterinary assessment, Oreo tested positive for heartworm. While this may sound concerning, his treatment will be fully covered by SCARS, and he will remain under veterinary care until he has completed his treatment and receives a negative heartworm result. We are now looking for a special family willing to foster Oreo with a pathway to adoption once he is heartworm free. Oreo would love a home where his people are around for much of the day and where he can enjoy being part of the family. He is looking for a home as the only pet, allowing him to have all the attention to himself. He would suit a family with children over 12 years of age. His foster family will need to be committed to following his treatment plan and providing him with the care, rest and routine recommended by his veterinary team. Oreo has so much love to give and is patiently waiting for someone to see past his medical journey and give him the chance he deserves. Could you be the family to help Oreo on his way home?
