Despite the change in surroundings, he has proven to be a calm, gentle and incredibly affectionate boy who has quickly captured the hearts of everyone at the refuge. Often described as a true **“gentle giant,”** Rhino is deeply people-oriented and thrives on companionship. He loves leaning in for pats and enjoys being close to his humans, making him the kind of dog who will happily be by your side throughout the day. His relaxed, easygoing nature suggests he has been well loved in the past, and he carries that warmth into every interaction. For a dog approaching 7 years old, Rhino still has a playful and energetic side. He loves a good play session and brings a fun, youthful spirit to daily life. Rhino is selective of which dogs he is happy to share space with for this reason, **Rhino is best suited as the only dog in the home**, where he can enjoy all the attention and companionship from his people. Rhino would suit a home with children aged **12 years and over** who understand his size and gentle nature. He has some mild arthritis in his knees, so a **single-level home without stairs is preferred**. Rhino is a loyal, affectionate companion who would love nothing more than a comfortable home where he can relax, receive plenty of love and enjoy life by your side.
