About Princess

Meet Princess! Princess is a sweet and affectionate young girl searching for her forever home. Shelter life has been a little challenging for her, and she will thrive in a calm, structured home that can provide patience, routine, and plenty of reassurance as she settles in. This lovely girl absolutely adores being with her people. One of her favourite things is curling up beside you and resting her head in your lap while soaking up all the pats and affection she can get. Princess forms strong bonds with her humans and loves being included in daily life. Princess can be a little anxious when first left alone, so she is looking for an adopter who can help her gradually build confidence with short periods of separation . Taking things slowly and creating positive experiences will help her feel safe and secure in her new environment. Due to previous injuries, Princess can sometimes be worried about close handling and restraint . Building trust is key, and because she is incredibly food motivated, treats and enrichment activities such as lick mats are a great way to make handling and training fun and rewarding Princess is a very clever girl who already knows cues such as sit and down . She is eager to learn , highly food motivated , and will flourish with ongoing training. She loves having a job to do and enjoys both mental and physical enrichment . One of her favourite things is water, so a doggy pool for splashing around in during summer would make her very happy! With her athletic nature and love of learning, she would likely excel at trick training, enrichment games, or even some fun agility-style activities at home. While Princess has shown reactivity towards other dogs within the shelter environment , she is social and playful once introductions are completed and has enjoyed walking alongside other dogs away from the shelter . She will benefit from continued positive reinforcement training around other dogs, including focus games and "find it" activities during walks. Any resident dogs will need to meet Princess prior to adoption , ideally in a controlled environment away from the shelter where she can relax and show her true friendly nature. Princess would be best suited to a calm , mature household with older teenagers only. With patience, understanding, and a commitment to helping her build confidence, Princess will reward her new family with endless affection, companionship, and plenty of love.
