Chittaway Bay, NSW Oreo is a gorgeous, sweet-natured boy with a heart full of love and a wonderful personality to match. He is affectionate, loyal and very people-oriented, and once he feels comfortable with you, he will happily be your devoted companion. Oreo is around 12kgs, playful, curious and adventurous, and loves getting out and about with his people. He enjoys walks, exploring new places and keeping his clever mind busy with enrichment. He is also very food motivated, which makes positive reinforcement a great way to help him build confidence and learn new things. Oreo can be a sensitive boy, so he will thrive with patient, understanding people who can give him the consistency, routine and reassurance he needs to feel safe. His confidence has continued to grow while in foster care, and his separation anxiety has improved significantly with ongoing training. We will support his potential adopter with continuing this training and helping him build confidence around being left alone. We have also found that Oreo is more settled when he has a confident dog companion in the home, as having another dog around seems to help him feel less worried when his people leave. Oreo has also successfully attended doggy day care on a weekly basis while in care and has handled this very well, showing that he can be comfortable and confident away from his foster family. My ideal home: A calm, stable and loving adult-only home where I can build a strong bond with my people and be included in everyday life. I’d love humans who have the time and patience to continue helping me build my confidence. I’d also prefer someone who is home more often than not. A confident, friendly dog companion would be a big bonus! Dog-savvy older teenagers may also be considered. My energy level: Moderate. I’m an active and playful boy who loves walks, exploring and enrichment, but I’m equally happy relaxing and having cuddles at home. My suitability to children: I would ideally like an adult-only home. Dog-savvy older teenagers may be considered if they understand how to respect my space, read my body language and help me feel comfortable. Young children are a little too unpredictable for me. My suitability to other cats or dogs: I have previously lived with another dog and got along very well. I also regularly spend time with another foster dog and we get along beautifully both inside and outside the home. I have successfully attended doggy day care weekly without issue and enjoy being around other dogs. A confident, friendly dog in my forever home may also help me feel more secure when left alone. I have lived with a cat previously, although I haven’t been introduced to one during my current foster stay, so my compatibility with cats is still unknown. Oreo is a wonderful boy who will truly flourish with patient, loving forever parents. He has already made fantastic progress in foster care, and with the right family continuing to support him, we know he has an amazing future ahead. In return, Oreo will give you a whole lot of loyalty, affection, fun and love. ❤️
