Meet Barney Barney is a very handsome, super sweet and slightly silly young Catahoula who is looking for his forever home. Still under a year old, Barney is the cuddliest boy who absolutely loves being around people and other dogs. He’s affectionate, playful, has a goofy personality and a wonderful sense of humour. Barney loves tug-of-war, zoomies, snuggles and puzzles. He’s also a big softie and can occasionally be a little unsure of funny things like shadows, leaves and random furniture left out for council clean-up days! Barney has plenty of party tricks like sit, centre, up, shake, and spin, and he’s a clever boy who is capable of learning plenty more with consistency, patience and positive reinforcement. He would thrive with an active person, couple or family who can give him plenty of daily exercise, play and attention. A secure yard or another dog in the household would be a big bonus. Barney is still a young dog, so his new family should be prepared to continue building on his training. In particular, he would benefit from some ongoing work with loose-lead walking and recall, as well as learning to stay grounded and calm when greeting people. He’s enthusiastic and eager to please, and responds well to positive reinforcement and clear, consistent guidance.
