About Rex

Meet Rex, a sweet young tabby boy with golden eyes and a quiet, charming, playful personality is looking for a loving, patient person who will give him time to shine. Rex came to the shelter as a timid stray who preferred hiding in the shadows, but only a few weeks in a loving foster home has revealed his true colours. While he can still be a little cautious in new environments, he has transformed into a curious, affectionate companion who loves being near his favorite human. He will follow his foster mum from room to room, settling right next to her on the couch or at her feet and greeting her with the sweetest little "brps" and chirps. He has recently discovered the joy of pats, and while he prefers keeping all four paws on the ground and isn't a lap cat just yet, his trust grows every day. His shyness is quickly overcome with interactive play with wand toys, or with treats and his favorite foods. He is also good at entertaining himself with solo toys to expend his young-cat energy! He may respond well to a friendly cat playmate/companion. If you are looking for a gentle, playful, and charming buddy to share your space and warm your heart, Rex is ready to meet you! His foster mum is happy to bring him to BMACC to meet you! Please call 0247805791 to line up a meeting with Rex. From his foster mum: Positives - Easy motivators to overcome shyness using play and food/treats - Playful - loves interactive wand toy games, but also plays with toys by himself. - Cute talking Brps and trills - Likes to sit near people - sits next to me on the couch or on the floor, and under my feet if I'm in a chair. - follows foster mum around the house - he's likely to bond strongly to his primary person. - Loving full pats and cheek scratches (took three weeks to get to full pats, start with cheeks first) - Will lay in the middle of floor and let people walk around or step over him - Perfect litter tray use - Understands he shouldn't be on the kitchen counter Not there yet - Being picked up (will struggle and run unless held firmly) - Sitting on laps (seems like he's close) Quirks -Fussy eater - No fish, Loves kangaroo meat!! fine with chicken flavours -Likes to splash water bowl with his paw getting water everywhere -Plays with hands, fairly gentle but should avoid as he gets rougher with confidence - Drags himself around the bed base with his paws
