Hi, I'm Petra! 🧡 When I first arrived in foster care, the only place I felt safe was inside my little tunnel. I'd spend my days tucked away, quietly watching the world from the entrance, wondering if it was safe to come out. My foster mum never asked me to be brave before I was ready. She simply let me go at my own pace, and little by little my world got a little bigger. First I'd peek out of my tunnel. Then I'd explore a room. Before long, I was wandering around the whole house, making new friends, and discovering that life can actually be pretty fun! One of the biggest surprises? I've discovered that I LOVE to play! Whether I'm chasing toys, zooming around with my foster brother Toast, or investigating something new, my playful side has really come out. I'm also a very curious girl. Sometimes I'll quietly wander over and gently tap my foster mum's hand with my little paws just to see what she's doing. These days, every night I jump up onto the bed to sleep alongside my foster mum, Toast, and my calm Golden Retriever friend, Walter. It's hard to believe I'm the same little cat who once thought my tunnel was the only safe place in the world. I'm still a gentle, sensitive soul, so I like to do things in my own time. Sometimes sudden movements surprise me, but every day I grow a little braver and a little more confident. Once I trust you, I love being nearby and quietly keeping you company. I'm looking for a patient family who will let me keep blossoming at my own pace. If you give me a little time, I promise I'll show you just how special I can be.
