Olive

When you are home Olive wants to be with you, on you and around you (and your feet). She will be your late night toilet escort, your shower supervisor, alarm clock, study buddy, door greeter, hot water bottle, food tester and zoom mate with personality. Olive will sleep and play with her toys, people/bird watch and do zoomies while you are out. Olive would thrive in a busier home with people or person coming and going or moving through their home getting stuff done. She has lived with cats before but wants her people to herself. She is untested with dogs but she can hold her own, so an equally confident, un phased dog may be a good match and some entertainment for her. Olive has a lot of love and affection to give but does require some in return. Olive has dry eye and needs an eye gel and drops a minimum of twice a day. She will let you do both without a fight and happily take her treat as a reward for not trying to kill you. This is a quick and easy process, she doesn't hold a grudge and accepts it as her normal. Olive is an amazing personal companion and still has her playful cat moments. Fun time attacking her wand toy and the scratch pole with gusto are her favourite. Once she gets her cat sillies out she is back to following you around and asking for scratches AND food if she can convince you. Olive would love to be your new family member. Medical Notes Olive has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). FIV is a retrovirus that can compromise the immune system, spread by fighting and deep penetrating wounds. They should lead a normal life despite this diagnosis, but there are a few special considerations that need to be made in regards to their health and well-being long term. These include being an inside only cat ; slow and careful introduction to other cats; and annual vaccinations and health checks. Olive has been diagnosed by our veterinary team and a veterinary ophthalmology specialist with having dry eye, also known as keratoconjunctiva sicca (KCS). KCS is an eye condition where the tear glands do not produce enough moisture to keep the eye healthy and lubricated. Olive is located with her foster family in Armadale.
