Archie

Archie is a gorgeous light ginger boy with a big personality and an even bigger love for people. He is an incredibly happy, affectionate and playful young cat who loves being around his humans and getting involved in whatever is happening. Whether it's playtime with his favourite toys, receiving cuddles, or simply hanging out nearby, Archie is happiest when he's part of the action. One of Archie's standout qualities is how confident and easy-going he is. He doesn't spook easily and takes new experiences in his stride, which makes him seem well suited to a home where there's a bit of activity. We think he could be a wonderful match for a family with children, provided they understand how to interact respectfully with cats. Archie is also a very playful boy who enjoys toys and having someone to engage with. But once playtime is over, he's more than happy to soak up some affection and enjoy being with his people. He has not yet had direct interaction with our resident cat, although he is definitely curious and interested in meeting him. Based on his friendly and confident nature, we think he could live happily with another cat. Most importantly, Archie is just a genuinely lovely, cheerful little cat. He has so much affection to give and would thrive in a home where he can be included in everyday life and have plenty of love, play and companionship. Due to being FIV+, he will need to be an indoor cat only. If you're looking for a friendly, affectionate and playful ginger boy who wants to be your little sidekick, Archie could be the one. Medical Notes Archie has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). FIV is a retrovirus that can compromise the immune system, spread by fighting and deep penetrating wounds. They should lead a normal life despite this diagnosis, but there are a few special considerations that need to be made in regards to their health and well-being long term. These include being an inside only cat; slow and careful introduction to other cats; and annual vaccinations and health checks. Archie may have been exposed to ringworm in the recent weeks. Archie is still requiring veterinary treatment from the Cat Haven and requires a revisit for a Juvenile gingivitis dental recheck procedure in December 2026. Note that occasionally we manage to fit these procedures in prior to adoption if they have been with us for a while, so be sure to confirm that this is still required when adopting. Archie is suspected of having a condition called Juvenile Gingivitis. Many cats will grow out of this issue before approximately 2 years of age, however some will have the condition for life.
