Minkie

Meet Minkie, a beautiful long-haired gentle soul who is looking for a patient, understanding home. He can be very timid at first and may spend some time in his safe spot while he settles in, but once he begins to trust you, his sweet personality starts to shine through. He now comes out for chin scratches, purrs happily when his back is stroked while he eats, and enjoys playful games from the safety of a blanket. He is generally careful with his claws during play, although he can become a little overexcited after a few minutes. He responds well to gentle redirection and quickly settles again. Grooming is one of his favourite activities. He will run over when he sees his brush, although he can become overstimulated and want to play with it instead. Because of his long coat, he will need regular grooming, particularly around his neck and throat where mats can develop, so an adopter with long-haired cat experience, or the patience to learn, would be ideal. He would suit a very quiet household, as loud noises and even some television sounds can make him retreat. He is independent enough to cope well with professional working households, provided he has a calm environment and a consistent routine. He also prefers very clean litter trays and will do best with an owner who is attentive to his litter box needs. This lovely boy is not the kind of cat who will rush into your lap on day one, but for someone willing to give him time, patience, and a peaceful home, he will reward you with trust, purrs, and his quietly affectionate nature. Medical Notes Minkie has a waiver for Inappropriate Toileting. During their time at Cat Haven, they have displayed some evidence of toileting inappropriately, such as toileting on their bedding or outside their litter tray. Their urine has been checked to rule out medical concerns, and it is likely that this behaviour is associated with stress and/or anxiety. It is possible that this behaviour will continue during the transition to your new home, and we cannot rule out that it may be an ongoing issue. I am located with my foster family in: Mandurah.
