Grumbles

Grumbles is a very friendly cat but doesn't need much attention. He greets family when they come home, is chatty, and loves to sleep on the pillows on the bed with people. He seems brave and chill; however, he can be sensitive and gentle at times. Even if he doesn't seem as distressed as normal cats, he quietly expresses his anxiety or stress. His desire for food is strong, and he can vomit after eating too fast, or he can jump up on the kitchen bench or the table to get humans' food. However, he has never messed up or broken anything. He is also very clever and understands his name. He will express a lot of affection when you try to give him food. He loves watching birds outside, and if none are available, he enjoys watching bird videos on YouTube. He can be curious outside occasionally, so people need to be careful that he can't go out. (He attempted to escape one time, but we could catch him with a snack) His favourite toys are furry or ribbon wands. He is well-behaved all the time. For instance, when he needs to go to the litter box but it's not available or is full, he just waits in front of it. He loves chicken more than anything, but presumably he doesn't like fish. I tried to give him a frozen, dried fish, but he couldn't understand how to eat it. I even gave him a little piece of fish, but he didn't like it. He can be picky about food. The more I live with him, the more I realise what an easygoing, good boy he is. I hope he can find a perfect home. Medical Notes Grumbles has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). FIV is a retrovirus that can compromise the immune system, spread by fighting and deep penetrating wounds. They should lead a normal life despite this diagnosis, but there are a few special considerations that need to be made in regards to their health and well-being long term. These include being an inside only cat; slow and careful introduction to other cats; and annual vaccinations and health checks. Grumbles has a waiver for Weight Management. Grumbles has a heart murmur. The murmur has been assessed by Cat Haven veterinary staff as mild (grade three or less) and not likely to cause any adverse effects on their health. Grumbles has a waiver for Cat Flu (recovered). Grumbles has a waiver for a chipped tooth. Our veterinarians have carefully assessed this chip and no further treatment is currently required.
