About Conan

Meet Conan. It's hard to imagine how a dog as sweet as Conan ended up the way he did. He was abandoned and left tied to the front of our shelter, with no idea why the people he trusted had left him behind. Despite everything, Conan has never stopped hoping for a person of his own. Once Conan learns that you are safe and that you are there to stay, he becomes something truly special. He is a sweetheart through and through, and when he trusts you, he becomes your best friend. He loves being close to his people and has even taken on the very important job of being our resident snack taster. Conan does carry some anxiety from his past, so he needs someone who will be patient with him and let him build trust in his own time. He needs consent based handling and slow, positive introductions to unfamiliar people. He may also be able to share his home with another dog, but they would need to meet first to make sure they are the right match. Conan has already experienced what it feels like to be left behind. What he needs now is someone who will show him that this time, he is home. He may need a little patience at first, but once Conan gives you his trust, you will have a best friend who will be worth every second of it.
