Luna

About Luna

Luna is a beautiful Maremma mix with a gorgeous coat and so much potential to become a wonderful companion in the right home. True to her Maremma nature, Luna can be a little aloof when first meeting new people and prefers to take things at her own pace. Once she feels comfortable, her funny, sweet and sensitive personality shines through. She is an incredibly clever girl who loves learning and pleasing her people. In foster care, Luna has been calm and relaxed. She is happiest being near her people, often settling in the same room and watching the world go by. She already knows sit, drop and stay, is learning shake, and will happily return to her bed when asked. She sleeps well through the night and much prefers a comfy bed to a crate. Luna walks nicely on lead and responds well to guidance when distracted by other dogs. She enjoys two walks a day, playing with tennis balls and spending time outdoors. A home offering safe access to both indoor and outdoor spaces would suit her beautifully. Luna enjoys canine company and could live with a playful, well-matched male dog, subject to a meet and greet. She has also lived successfully with cats in foster and may be able to share her home with confident, dog-savvy cats. Luna previously discovered that chasing neighbouring sheep was lots of fun, so she must live away from livestock and situations where she could access farm animals. She would thrive with a family who can provide regular exercise, enrichment, companionship and positive training. Due to her size and playful nature, Luna is best suited to a home with children aged 10 years and over. Luna may be reserved at first, but with patience and time, you'll soon discover the lovely girl underneath. With love, consistency and plenty to keep her clever mind busy, Luna has all the makings of a loyal and very special family member.
