This gorgeous 1 year and 8-month-old American Bulldog is basically a giant puppy with four legs, a wagging tail and absolutely no plans to keep her excitement to herself. Iris recently came into our care after her previous owner had to make the difficult decision to surrender her due to a change in their living situation. But Iris? She's ready to put that chapter behind her and get on with the important stuff - making friends, getting pats and being involved in EVERYTHING. This girl LOVES people. In fact, calling Iris a social butterfly feels like an understatement. She sees a new person and immediately thinks, "OMG! MY NEW BEST FRIEND!" Cue the wiggles. Then the bouncing. Then more wiggles. Sometimes there may even be a little launch sequence. Iris is an enthusiastic girl who is still learning that greetings don't always require quite so much... airtime. She'll need a family who can help her channel all that excitement into good manners with consistency, patience and plenty of tasty treats. Underneath all those bouncy greetings is a sweet, affectionate girl who simply wants to be part of your world. She's looking for a home with high-school-aged kids or older who can handle her enthusiastic personality. She may also enjoy having a calm, patient doggy companion to help show her the ropes, pending a successful introduction at the shelter. Give Iris a little guidance and she'll give you a LOT of love, laughs, tail wags and probably a few surprise zoomies. If you're looking for a dog who will greet you like you've been gone for 10 years when you've literally just walked back through the door... Iris would like to submit her application. She's gorgeous, goofy, affectionate and ready to find the people she can call her own. Could you be Iris' happily ever after? Any children or dogs living at home will need to meet Iris here at the shelter before she can be adopted. Weight 33.6kg
