Meet Gertie! Gertie is a sweet-natured, affectionate little lady who loves being close to her people. She's a gentle girl with a lovely personality and is always happy to come back for some extra cuddles and attention. Gertie walks beautifully on lead and enjoys getting out and about for a stroll. She also likes a little game and will happily have a play, although she's often quick to abandon the toy and come back to you for more cuddles instead! She can lack a little confidence, particularly when it comes to handling, so she is looking for a patient and understanding family who will let her take things at her own pace. Once she feels comfortable, her affectionate side really starts to shine. Gertie can be social with other dogs, but she definitely prefers calm, low-arousal doggy friends rather than dogs who want to play rough or get too excitable. She can become overwhelmed when things get a little too much, so we recommend she starts off as the only dog in her new home while she settles in and builds her confidence. She could live with dog-savvy primary school-aged children or older who can understand when she needs a little space and are happy to interact with her gently. Gertie really is a gorgeous little companion. She enjoys her walks, a little bit of playtime and, most importantly, plenty of affection from her favourite people.
