Theodore

At just 8 months old, Theodore should be spending his days discovering the world, chasing toys, and enjoying all the carefree fun that comes with being a kitten. Instead, this sweet young boy has already faced more challenges than most, spending time in foster care recovering medically before making his way back to the shelter. While Theodore has done an amazing job on his recovery journey, returning to the shelter has been a little hard for him. The busy environment, unfamiliar faces, and constant activity can be overwhelming, and it's clear that what Theodore really misses is having a quiet place to call home and people he can trust. His foster carer got to know the real Theodore, and the picture they paint is simply adorable. He's a gentle, affectionate boy who can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once he feels safe, he forms incredibly close bonds. When he chooses his person, he'll happily stay nearby, curl up beside them, or simply lie close by, content just to be in their company. Like any young cat, Theodore has a playful side too. A wand toy is his absolute favourite, and watching him play is enough to bring a smile to anyone's face. He loves exploring his surroundings, investigating anything new, and satisfying his curious nature. He also has a quirky love of newspapers and paper sheets, often choosing them as the perfect place to relax... though they sometimes fall victim to a few playful bites and tears along the way! Theodore enjoys his meals with a little extra water added, likes to keep himself meticulously clean, and has all the makings of a wonderful companion for someone willing to give him the time and patience he needs to settle. Our hearts break a little when we see Theodore sitting quietly in his shelter enclosure. We know how much happier he was in a home environment, where he could relax, play, cuddle, and simply be the loving young cat he was meant to be. What Theodore needs now is a family willing to look past the shelter walls and see the sweet, sensitive soul underneath. A patient home, a comfy place to nap, a wand toy or two, and someone to love could make all the difference for this special boy. Theodore has already fought hard to get where he is today. Now all he needs is someone to give him the happy ending he deserves. Theodore is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment.
