Meet Niko! At only 5 months old, Niko found herself without a home and all alone in the world. After spending some time with a dedicated foster carer, Niko has come so far and is now ready to leave the shelter life behind and find her forever home. Niko's foster carer said: "Niko is a sweet, clever and curious little girl with a gentle but cautious personality. She is very slow to warm up in a new environment and can be quite sensitive and timid at first, but once she feels safe and learns to trust you, a completely different side of her begins to appear. When Niko first arrived in foster care, she spent much of her first week or two hiding under the sofa or squeezing herself into any small, sheltered space she could find. She would accept gentle pats, but rarely initiated interaction herself. After about a week, she gradually began letting her guard down, coming out more often and actively engaging in play. Niko is definitely a slow-burn kind of cat.
