Mavis has spent the last few months being someone’s mum. She arrived after a rough start, unsure whether human hands were something she could trust. She was given time to decompress, learned that this house was safe… and just as her funny little personality started appearing, she became a mum. And what a mum she was. She raised her kittens beautifully — protective, playful, patient and completely devoted to them. But now the babies are grown, and something lovely has happened. Mavis is back. The young, funny, wonderfully chatty girl who was starting to emerge before motherhood has returned — and this time, she gets to find a life that is all about her. Mavis is a conversationalist. She has opinions, she has stories, and she is quite happy to tell you about them. If you’re looking for a silent housemate, Mavis may have other plans. She loves companionship and being near her people. She absolutely adores head and ear rubs and will lean herself into your hand as if to say, “Yep… right there. Keep going.” And that little gesture means more than it might seem. Because Mavis has had to learn that hands can be gentle. That people can be kind. That affection doesn’t have to come with fear attached. She’s still learning, and watching her choose trust more and more is incredibly special. But Mavis isn’t a cat who needs you beside her every second. She’s perfectly capable of doing her own thing for a few hours while you work, shop or live your life — and then being very pleased to have her person back to chat to. She would make a beautiful companion for someone who wants a cat with personality. Someone who wants company, conversation, affection and a little bit of comedy in their home. Mavis has already been the frightened girl. She’s been the brave girl learning to trust. She’s been the brilliant mum who gave everything to her babies. Now she gets to be Mavis. Young. Funny.
