Assisted rehoming Female and Male Border Collies Meet Ruthie and Tucker — a very special bonded pair . Ruthie and Tucker are a beautiful pair of Border Collies who are looking for a forever home together, and together really is the important part — these two absolutely adore each other. Ruthie is an elegant 11-year-old lady who loves nothing more than curling up on the couch while you read a book. Tucker, 7, is always up for an adventure. He loves going for walks, chasing a ball and getting out and about. When the opportunity for a walk arises, they are both ready to go, and they happily share the leading of the pack . Despite enjoying their walks and having plenty of energy when they’re outside, both dogs are remarkably calm in the house. Once they’ve had their exercise, they are very happy to settle down for a nap . They have settled into our home remarkably quickly and have been calm, affectionate and well behaved from the day they arrived. As long as they’re next to each other, they’re very happy. They are both huge fans of people. They love cuddles , tummy rubs and having their ears scratched, and they have decided that they are both lap dogs! They will happily climb onto a lap for some affection, but they also respond very well when given boundaries. They’re friendly and welcoming when visitors arrive and are great with children. They have also been wonderful with our two cats. Their bond is particularly special. When they walk together, they are shoulder-to-shoulder, sharing the smells and exploring everything together. At night they cuddle up together to sleep. They clearly take great comfort and pleasure in each other’s company, and we feel very strongly that they need to be adopted together. They are well trained, walk well on a lead (although they like to move at a good pace!), and enjoy travelling in the car. They are comfortable being handled, washed and brushed, and both enjoy the attention. Ruthie particularly enjoys being brushed, although she does have some dander. They are happy spending time alone together and have managed very well when we’ve been away from them. They do enjoy being near their people, though, and would love a home where they can be part of family life. They currently have two walks a day and happily run and play together in our fully fenced backyard. A home with a good-sized, secure yard and, ideally, some additional land would be wonderful for them. Both dogs are healthy, vaccinated and microchipped. Tucker is being organised for desexing. Ruthie is currently undesexed (due to age). Their previous owner recently moved into a nursing home, but Tucker and Ruthie have been well loved and cared for throughout their lives. We are temporarily fostering them while their family looks for a loving forever home where they can stay together. What we’re looking for is someone who will fall in love with these two and give them the rest of their lives together. Location: West End Assisted rehoming This is an assisted rehoming which means that Animals In Need Brisbane (AINB) will advertise, contact applicants and pass on applications that meet the the criteria to the owner who will make the final decision on the rehoming of the animal. AINB may also be requested to undertake an inspection of the successful applicants property to confirm safety and suitability. There is no adoption fee for assisted rehomings but we do ask for a donation (amount of their choosing) from the successful applicant to AINB, in recognition of the administrative and time costs incurred..
