They had to move away and navigate major life changes, and heartbreakingly, they are no longer in a position to take Lucy back. Now eight years young, Lucy is ready for the next chapter of her life — a dedicated forever home where she can finally feel safe, settled and loved. Despite everything she experienced during her year on the streets, Lucy has emerged as an incredibly chill, gentle and polite girl. What’s truly remarkable is how strongly she remains focused on people. When Lucy is around humans, she settles beautifully and turns her attention toward the people she loves, soaking up their affection and companionship. She’s also been doing wonderfully on social outings with her carers. She has happily visited places such as Petbarn, enjoying the experience and all the attention that comes with it. Because Lucy spent so long having to survive alone, she can become overwhelmed when approached by other dogs. For this reason, Lucy needs to be the only pet in her new home so she can feel completely safe, relaxed and secure. What Lucy is looking for isn’t complicated: a quiet, loving home where she can decompress, enjoy the comforts of indoor life, and finally be the centre of someone’s world.
