If you are looking for someone special to love, then look no further. Zeke is a very special boy, who is looking for a special family to love and care for him. He has a lot of love to give in return.  Zeke is a quintessential English Staffy, which means he has; boundless energy (even at 8 years old), no concept of personal space, so much love (which looks like forceful face licking), demanding stares and brilliant cuddles. He will be a partner who would like to share every meal with you and be involved in whatever you are doing. He has endless cuteness, smiles and quirkiness and wants to develop a deep bond with his family.  Zeke is a very smart boy, with basic obedience down pat and an eagerness to learn new tricks. Zeke is very quick to learn and loves all types of food.  Zeke will need time to adjust to a new home; this will be a stressful transition for him. When Zeke is stressed, he can compulsively chase his tail and become reactive. This may be what you experience in the first week with Zeke. He will require time, space, and a lot of patience. We have found that frozen Kongs and other brain activities (e.g. sniffer games) help him manage this stress. This loving and caring boy is looking for someone that will: -              Have capacity and patience to take on his additional medical and behavioural requirements. -              Be around most of the time and appreciate having Zeke involved in everyday tasks.  -              Like to play and be active (after his heartworm treatment is complete). -              Be kind, calm and gentle.   -              Put time and effort into puzzle toys, scent games and training (especially during his treatment).  -              Be able to look after his medical needs, i.e. giving daily medications and providing calm activities while he is on rigid exercise restricted (see special needs section for details).  Zeke is a special boy who offers:  -              A second shadow.  -              Good communication and empathy.   -              Motivation to stay active.  -              Many reasons to smile each day.  -              Lots of love and so much more.  HEALTH WAIVER:  Zeke is currently being treated for heartworm. This treatment is included in the adoption fee and will need to be done at an approved Lucky Paws Vet in SE QLD. We will also pay for another heartworm test in 9 months. If the dog is still heartworm positive, Lucky Paws will pay for another round of heartworm treatment at our approved Lucky Paws vet.  Zeke is currently taking Trazocalm medication to help manage his energy restriction and anxiety while being treated for heartworm.
