I was surrendered to the local animal control, and transferred to SPCA to find my forever home Hi, I'm Lachy! I'm a gorgeous, big, boofy, gentle giant of a puppy with a whole lot of growing - and learning - still to do! I'm suspected to be a Rottweiler x German Shepherd, and I'm already around 20kg at around 5 months old, so there's no doubt I'm going to grow into a very big boy. That means my future family will need to be ready for plenty of puppy fun, plenty of cuddles, and a big commitment to helping me become the best version of myself. I'm still a young puppy, so the world is a big and exciting place for me. I'll need a family who understands that raising a large-breed puppy takes time, patience, consistency and lots of positive reinforcement. Appropriate training, socialisation and structure will be really important for me while I'm young, so I can continue growing into a confident, well-mannered and well-socialised big boy. I also need a home that can keep me lean and healthy, as I'm at higher risk than the average puppy of developing hip and elbow dysplasia, so its crucial I go to a home that is able to manage this financially, as well as provide me the training and care I need as a growing pup. I'm looking for people who will enjoy teaching me good manners and helping me learn how to navigate the world appropriately. Puppy school and ongoing training would be fantastic for me, giving me the chance to build my confidence, learn some important life skills and make lots of positive experiences along the way. Because I'm going to be such a big dog, my family will need to be prepared for my size and strength as I grow. I'll need someone committed to teaching me how to walk nicely, listen, settle, greet people politely and make good choices - before I become a very large teenager with a lot of enthusiasm! 😂 I could potentially live with confident, dog-savvy children who understand that puppies can be boisterous, excitable and still learning how to behave appropriately. I may also enjoy having another friendly dog around to show me the ropes and share some adventures with me. And what about cats? Well, I may even be able to live with a confident, sassy, dog-savvy cat following slow and careful introductions. I'll need to learn that feline friends have boundaries, too! If you're interested in meeting me, the team can share more about my medical history with you - just apply to adopt to get in touch. I can't wait to meet you and start learning all about life with my forever family!
