I was surrendered to SPCA as my previous owner could no longer care for me. I'm ready for a second chance at forever - could that be with you? Hi, I'm Rey! I'm a beautiful brindle girl with white socks, a big heart, and a zest for life that's just as strong now as it's ever been. At 7 years old, I've still got so much spunk and a playful puppy personality that, aside from my adorable powdered-sugar face, you'd never guess my age! I'm a very social dog who loves spending time with people and other dogs. I enjoy being part of the family and like to know what's going on around me. I would love a home with some dog experience, and with a fenced outdoor space for zoomies! An active home would suit me best. I love long walks, trips to the beach, swimming in rivers, exploring new places, and running around with my dog friends. I can get very excited when it's time for an adventure and may pull on the lead, especially at the start of a walk. Because I'm a strong girl and can become frustrated when I can't get where I want to go or I see something that looks fun to chase, I'll need a confident handler who can guide me and continue helping me build good walking manners. Once I've had a chance to settle, I know how to walk nicely and enjoy taking in all the sights and smells along the way. I'm a smart girl who knows my basic commands, but I do have a bit of an independent streak and sometimes like to do things in my own time! I respond wonderfully to praise-tell me "good job" and you'll absolutely make my day. Positive reinforcement and encouragement are the way to my heart. Because I can get excited and sometimes forget just how much space I take up, I'd be best suited to a home with older children or dog-savvy teens. I may accidentally knock over little ones during one of my enthusiastic moments! I really enjoy the company of other dogs and love making canine friends. I can get very excited when meeting dogs while on lead, but once I have the chance to interact appropriately, I'm all about having fun and making friends. I have been in a home with cats and chickens before, so could go to a home with a dog-savvy cat. At home, I enjoy spending time with my people, listening to music, watching TV, and being involved in daily life. I also have a wonderful singing voice which I may occasionally show off when the mood strikes! While I can be left alone for short periods, I'm used to having company around and would love a home where I can be a part of the family. I do have a waiver that the team are happy to send you if you're interested in me.
