Hi, I’m Kong! I’m a sweet, gentle boy who loves being close to my people and making new friends once I’ve had a moment to settle in. I enjoy the simple things in life — short strolls, tasty treats, soft plush toys to carry around, and cozy naps after a fun day. I’m a clever boy too, and I really enjoy enrichment like kongs and puzzle feeders to keep my brain busy. My humans say I have a lovely nature and a very soft heart. I would love to have someone home more at first while I settle in, I get a bit worried in new places and just need a bit of company and reassurance at first. A safe haven set up would be great too. I’ve had positive experiences with other dogs and enjoy playful social time, but I’d still love to meet any dogs in my new home before heading off on my next adventure. I’ll also need to meet any children in the household to make sure we’re the perfect match. I have been told I have some issues with my knees and require a couple of surgeries over the next few months. I am hoping I can settle in with my permanent family before I start my surgeries so that I can recover in my own home. The costs for my surgery will still be covered by RSPCA – all you need to do is bring me to my appointments and care for me while I recover, including lots of rest and relaxation until I can be up and running again. The RSPCA team will support you and me through the whole process. If you’re looking for a loyal little companion who will happily keep you company and melt into your side after a walk or play session, I might just be your perfect boy! Please note: Kong is available for local adoption only (within driving distance of RSPCA Sydney – Yagoona) due to the need for repeat vet visits.
